Uppsala Innovation Centre UIC

Uppsala Innovation Centre UIC is a business incubator offering well-defined processes to help start-up companies develop their innovations. Our mission is to increase the number of successful high-growth companies within the Uppsala region.

In total, we offer around 50 companies to follow the business programs.

UIC offers five business programs

In order to achieve our mission we offer five different business programs. The business programs offered are suitable for different phases of the commercialization of an idea.

Before you can attend a program you will go through a profound selection process.

After completion of the business programs the company, if not before, should be ready to introduce their product or service on the market. If the projects need longer process time (as for example some life-science projects), the company can get extra focus on funding.

UIC Business Start
For entrepreneurs-to-be who wants to explore the commercialization possibility of their idea. You will receive knowledge on how to start a company and what is needed to take an idea into a high-growth potential business.

UIC Business Lab
To strengthen the early business process in start-up companies with high growth potential. You will achieve knowledge in all steps needed to commercialize your product.

UIC Business Prep
A program for specially selected companies with high potential. Companies have specific areas of development that need to be refined and prepared further so that the criteria for the program UIC Business Accelerator can be met.

UIC Business Accelerator
For start-up companies close to market introduction of their product or service. You will be offered resources to support the business development, including a business coach, seminars, networking events, guidance on fundraising and access to conference rooms.

UIC Alumni
For selected companies that have completed UIC Business Lab and/or UIC Business Accelerator. You are offered seminars and other events, giving you the chance to exchange experiences with other entrepreneurs and to grow your network.

All business programs are given in Swedish.

Business Coaches

To support the process we have about 50 business coaches connected to UIC. The business coaches have profound experience from executive positions in different industries and they are all approved by the UIC Board of Directors.
